Hiding Vegetables in Your Food and not Having to Taste Them While You Eat

Finally incorporating vegetables into my diet has transformed everything at an astonishing pace. I feel more energized, and my anxiety has noticeably decreased. It’s as if my mind has been sharpened, like honing a dull blade. My libido has increased too! And let’s not even get started on how my skin has improved. I could go on and on.

But the main takeaway is this constant realization: “Ah, THIS is why all those doctors and shows I watched as a kid kept insisting on eating your veggies, eat your veggies, eat your veggies!”

Here are some tips on how to add a few more veggies to your daily meals without even having to taste the veggies.

Carrots

I shred carrots and mix them into my spaghetti sauce. You wouldn’t even notice they’re there!

To the previous mix, you may want to add pumpkin, it will also thicken the sauce.

I mix grated carrots into ground meat for my burger patties, and it really enhances the meaty flavour. And let’s not overlook sloppy joes!

Spinach

Since we are on the topic of meat, I must confess, I hate spinach, but pregnancy and iron deficiency is a real thing, so I started adding spinach to the meat, I thought it would be ruined, but I’m telling you, didn’t even remember I had put in the spinach

Beef stew with Carrots, mushrooms, celery, onions, and garlic, all with a spoon of olive oil, a few buzzes in the blender, I had the most amazing slow cooked meat and no taste of veggies, although the sauce was heavenly, but it’s a slow roast, how could it not be?

I have also started adding it to soup along with squash.

Squash

Have you ever tried butternut squash into curry? I promise you won’t even feel the flavour.

Pesto

If you’re a fan of pesto, you can whip up a batch using just about any greens! I’ve long since switched from basil and now frequently use kale. Recently, I stumbled upon chive pesto, and it’s absolutely fantastic (mixing in some parsley can help mellow out any strong flavours or bitterness).

Just blend it all together with plenty of mild oil, garlic, a splash of lemon, and then pop it in the freezer. You can always add different spices and cheeses when you’re ready to use it!

Add cashew and arugula to soften any flavours you dislike.

Soup

Sauté a mix of your favourite vegetables, then blend them with bone broth and season with salt, pepper, and spices. In no time, you’ll have a tasty soup that’s easy to enjoy. Plus, these soups freeze nicely and make a great side dish!

Make an assorted veggie roast, throw them in the oven, leave them to roast until soften, put them in the blender, add some olive oil, garlic powder, pepper and water if needed. I like to add some cashew as well, blend and serve!

My favourite in butter squash, onions, garlic, potato, carrots and spinach, roasted together and blended.
